Report: Russian ALROSA can raise sales to China threefold in 2–3 yrs

VLADIVOSTOK, Sep 2 (PRIME) -- Russian diamond mining giant ALROSA can double or triple diamond sales to China within 2–3 years, CEO Andrei Zharkov told Bloomberg in an interview published on Friday.

“The company’s sales to China alone may triple within the next two to three years”, Zharkov said. “In terms of diamond jewelry demand, China’s market may grow near the size of the U.S. in five years.”

The market demand for diamonds is expected to stabilize until the end of 2016, he also told the newswire.
